ARCO Chip Tantalum Capacitors
ARCO Chip Tantalum Capacitors are designed for surface mount applications including use on hybrid designs. The chips are designed with a flat top to facilitate use with vacuum pick-up equipment and the molded shape guarantees accurate placement on the PC Board.
ARCO's tantalum chips are available in bulk form and in high-density packaging on 8 mm and 12 mm blister tape on 7" and 12" reels for high-volume automatic insertion operations. The chips have a glue pad on the underside which allows a consistent bonding to the PC board prior to the soldering operation. The rugged construction of ARCO's chip tantalum prevents damage to the chip during soldering even when employing techniques such as infra-red, soldering wave and reflow soldering. The chips are resistant to flux removal solvents such as those used in vapor phase soldering.

ARCO Dipped Tantalum ART Capacitors
ARCO Dipped Tantalum ART Capacitors are designed with a solid electrolyte plus a highly stable oxide layer and are finished with an epoxy coating. This type of construction guarantees extremely stable electrical performance over wide temperature ranges for long time periods. In addition, the units permit only a very small leakage current even after long storage. The epoxy coating is non-flammable and is resistant to moisture and mechanical damage. The units can be mounted in any position. They are available in both bulk pack and on tape and reel or in ammo pack for automatic insertion onto a board.

ARCO ART dipped tatalum capacitors are low in cost and are suitable for commercial and professional applications. ARCO tatalums are designed and conditioned to produce a failure rate of less than 1%/1000 hours (AT 85 ° with 0.1 / volt, 60% confidence level). Marking includes capacitance, DC voltage and polarity (where applicable). The gold epoxy resin coating has a limiting oxygen index in excess of 30 (ASIM-D-2863).
